Ashoka University

NCI’s partner university, Ashoka University, has an exciting Visiting Student Programme (VSP) that allows NCI member university students to experience Ashoka’s distinctive academic offerings. This program invites students to spend either a semester or a full academic year immersed in their vibrant community.

Eligibility

In order to apply for study abroad at Ashoka, a student must fulfil the following criteria:
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student at a partner institution of Ashoka University or any other institution abroad
  • The home university must accept Ashoka course transfer credits towards the student’s degree
  • Completed a minimum of 1 year of university-level study (by the time s/he starts at Ashoka)
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent

  2. Application Documents
    Students can apply through the Ashoka online application portal by filling in personal information and submitting the following documents:
    • Updated CV/Resume
    • Academic transcript from you home institution: Official transcript should include the Name of your programme of study, course or major, list of all completed courses to date, Grade Point Average (GPA) or equivalent
    • Statement of purpose: Describe your motivation to apply for an academic year/a semester at Ashoka University, (max. 500 words)
    • 1 Letter of Recommendation (LoR) from a faculty with whom student has taken a course
    • Passport copy
    • Passport size photo

Academics

Fall & Spring Semester course load:
  • 4 courses (4 credits each) equivalent to 30 ECTS.
  • Each 4-credit course entails 40 contact hours.

1 optional (2 credits) co-curricular course in performing arts/visual arts/languages.

Visa and Health Insurance

A visa is required for international students. Upon acceptance, we will provide a visa support letter. Health insurance coverage for India is mandatory and is also required for visa purposes.
