Aarhus University (AU)

The Institute of History and Area Studies (IHO) of Aarhus University (AU) has been awarded an EU-grant (EuropeAid) to establish and finance a Contemporary India Study Centre Aarhus (CISCA) from 15th of December 2009 to 14th of December 2011 coordinating teaching programmes on India and the Indian subcontinent as well as establishing partnerships with Indian universities aimed at facilitating and improving these programmes. It will advance the study of contemporary Indian society, history and language (Hindi) by jointly developing curricula with our partners and establish resources required for high quality teaching and research. AU also offers a Master's Degree Programme in Asian Studies (India And South Asia Studies).

The University of Copenhagen

The University of Copenhagen has a Centre of Global South Asian Studies is a trans-disciplinary research centre facilitating research and teaching on South Asia at the University of Copenhagen. They are currently involved in a research project titled ‘Nation in Motion: Globalisation, Development and Governance in ‘New India'’.

The Asian Dynamics Initiative (ADI)

INDIABRIDGE

INDIABRIDGE is a project under the Centre for Privacy Studies which aims to produce an understanding of the historical notions of privacy in architecture and urbanism since the 17th century were a bilateral mechanism between West and East. This will be achieved by analysing and recording border-crossing patterns and relationships in the built environment between Denmark and India.

The University of Iceland

The University of Iceland is home to ASÍS – Icelandic Centre for Asian Studies that aims to increase understanding and appreciation of the Asian region among Icelandic academics, students and general public. Umeå University

Umeå University’s Department of Public Health and Clinical Medicine has linkages with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi and Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute in Pondicherry. A Vinnova - funded research project on tuberculosis in collaboration with researchers at the Open Source Drug Discovery Unit in Bangalore is also based at Umea. Uppsala University has a Forum for South Asia Studies which is an interdisciplinary research forum in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Spanning across six faculties (Theology, Law, History and Philosophy, Social Sciences, Languages, Educational Sciences) researchers at Uppsala University are working on multiple subjects related to the South Asian region.

Linköping University
