About Us

The Nordic Centre in India (NCI) is a consortium of leading universities and research institutions in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. Established in 2001 with the objective to facilitate cooperation in research and higher education between the Nordic countries and India, NCI facilitates and supports a wide range of study and research activities in India and in the Nordic countries.

What Do You Want To Study?

Short Programmes

NCI offers short term thematic programmes to NCI member university students. Hosted by leading Indian academic institutions, these residential programmes offer high quality academic instruction with a focus on field related exposure. Students earn 7.5/10 ECTS for these courses.

Semester Programmes

NCI in partnership with leading universities offer semester programmes to NCI member university students where students can experience a semester studying in India and being part of the academic life and culture in India.

Practice Placement Programmes

NCI is currently developing practice placement opportunities for NCI member university students in the area of teacher training, social work, business management and environmental sustainability.

Customised Programmes

NCI independently creates customised programmes for member university students groups as per their need and area of interest. From assistance in practical matters to arranging lectures and field visits, NCI can curate the experience as per the group's needs.

Higher Education

NCI supports mobility in higher education between Nordic members and Indian partners through its summer programmes, semester programmes, internship programmes, and customised programmes for member university students.

Research Cooperation

NCI assists member university researchers in networking and finding partners in the Indian higher education and research landscape. Furthermore, NCI provides practical assistance for member university academic events in India.

Increasing Member Visibility

NCI works towards increasing member university visibility in India so as to support member university recruitment efforts in India to attract the best Indian talent to Nordic HEIs for masters and doctoral programmes as well as faculty level positions.
