University of Copenhagen to develop Health Professions Education in India in Cardiometabolic diseases

Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen has become partner in an institutional capacity development project aimed at enhancing health professions education (#HPE) in #India, particularly in the areas of #prevention, #treatment, and #care of #cardiometabolic diseases (CMDs). The project is conducted by the Centre for Online and Blended Learning and the Department of Public Health at the #ncimember University of Copenhagen, in collaboration with several Indian and international research and educational institutions. The activities will be implemented over two years as part of the larger Partnership for Education of Health Professionals (PEP) program initiated by the Danish Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF). The aim is to support the three institutions All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (#AIIMSDelhi), Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), and the Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMC) Vellore in establishing #CentresofExcellence in health professions education, which will experiment and develop new teaching and learning approaches, and scale up good practices in weaker health professions education institutions in rural and underserved areas. The ultimate goal is to improve the education of health professionals to serve people in vulnerable positions at risk of or living with CMDs.
