Study for a Semester at Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon

NCI has an agreement with the Management Development Institute (MDI) in Gurgaon, Haryana (close to the Indian capital New Delhi) that enables up to 15 Nordic students to study and spend a full semester at MDI. The aim of the program is to make it possible for students to pursue sound academic knowledge of Business and Management Studies in India as well as gain experiences of the academic culture and living in India. Students are expected to follow a fulltime academic program of either minimum 12 Credits (20 ECTS) or maximum 18 credits (30 ECTS) spread over 4-6 courses. Terms available for NCI students at MDI are: Third (January- March), Fourth (Mid June – Mid Sept.), Fifth (Mid Sept. – Mid Dec.)

Students from NCI member universities can choose among the following Post Graduate Programs:

First Year MA Students: Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) and Post Graduate Programme in Human Resources (PGP-HR).  

Second Year MA Students: Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM); Post Graduate Programme in Human Resources (PGP-HR); Elective Courses

Costs

Tuition fees: Waived Off for NCI students

Accommodation: MDI has rooms available on campus in Student Hostels.
Category 1: Non AC, Double occupancy shared toilets & bathrooms Price: 12,000 INR/per month.

Category 2: AC rooms, subject to availability; Price: 1,500INR/per day (excl. service tax); including 3 meals.

The cost does not include expenses for travels to and from MDI, visa fees, or medical and travel insurance, for which the students need to pay by themselves.

Students have pay for their lodging & boarding both after their arrival at MDI to hostel office in cash.



Application

The application should include the following documents:

A filled up registration form for admission to MDI send through the IR office of the partner school to NCI (director@nordiccentreindia.com) and MDI (iro@mdi.ac.in) in soft as well as hard copy

along with the copy of the passport of the student.

Students do not need to take GMAT or TOEFL Test; however an English proficiency letter from the student’s institution must be provided to MDI.

Student must have provided documentation that he/she has completed his/her BA graduation and is perusing post graduation course.

The students admitted to the course will be given a letter of admission from MDI and can apply for study visa through the Indian embassy in their home country.

Participants are expected to pursue a fulltime academic program, which means a credit load of minimum 12 credits (20 ECTS) or maximum 18 credits (30 ECTS), spread over 4-6 courses. The faculty of MDI can assist students in finding out the most suitable courses and there is also an opportunity to try out different courses during the first week of the semester before finalizing the program.

The City of Gurgaon

Gurgaon District is situated in NCR of Delhi, the capital of India. It is just 10 kms away from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi. Over the past 25 years the city has undergone rapid development and construction. Gurgaon is one of Delhi's four major satellite cities and is part of the National Capital Region. It is within commuting distance of Delhi via an expressway and Delhi Metro. Gurgaon is the second largest city in the Indian State of Haryana and is the industrial and financial center of Haryana. It has the 3rd highest per capita income in India after Chandigarh and Mumbai. It is also the IT hub & centre of various BPO companies.

Accommodation

Students of PGPM, PGP-HR and PGP-IM stay on Campus and are provided with accommodation on twin- sharing basis in Change Masters and Kshitij. There is a separate hostel block for the girl students called Oddessy. Students are required to bring their own PC with LAN card. The rooms are provided with a bed, a study table, a chair, a cupboard and the usual fixtures. The students may bring their own mattress, bed linen, toiletries and locks for almirah and hostel rooms though these are also available in the student run Co-operative Store "Prayas”.

The executives of Management Development Programmes are accommodated in Parthenon and Nalanda hostels which have been especially designed to suit the needs of executives. The rooms are air-conditioned and are fully furnished with modern gadgets. The rooms are provided with Internet connection to facilitate extended study hours for the participants. They may bring their PCs with LAN card to fully capitalize on opportunities offered by the residential programme. Taksha Shila is also an executive hostel for the MDP participants and hosts reception halls, air-conditioned dining halls and air-conditioned and fully furnished rooms with modern amenities.
