NCI chairperson Rupali Bhalerao visited SASNET to discuss collaboration on October 8
Dr. Rupali Bhalerao, analyst at Umeå University’s Planning Office, and chairperson of the Nordic Centre in India (NCI) university consortium, visited Lund University and SASNET on 8 October 2014. A meeting was organised with Lars Eklund, Anna Lindberg, Olle Frödin and Linda Hiltmann of SASNET, to discuss possible forms of strenghtening the already existing collaboration between NCI and SASNET. Joint conferences, and collaboration on educational programmes in South Asia were issues on the agenda. (Rupali on photo with Lars and Olle) Since 1 January 2014, Umeå University hosts the secretariat of the NCI, whereas the Director is based at Delhi. The Nordic Centre in India currently has 20 member universities. Rupali Bhalerao was previously a Research Engineer at Umeå Plant Science Centre (UPSC), a research centre of experimental plant biology run jointly by the Department of Forest Genetics and Plant Physiology, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and the Department of Plant Physiology at Umeå University.
