The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, is inviting applications for the 89th edition of the Know India Programme (KIP), to be held in India from 15–29 September 2026.
This edition is aimed at a “Scholars and Innovators” cohort of young members of the Indian diaspora aged 18–23 years.
The Know India Programme is a flagship initiative designed to help young people of Indian origin connect with contemporary India while learning more about the country’s cultural heritage, economic transformation, innovation and start-up ecosystem, science and technology, educational institutions and wider development.
The programme offers participants an opportunity to experience India beyond their ancestral connection — engaging with institutions, communities and different aspects of the country’s social, cultural and economic life.

Young members of the Indian diaspora living in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden who may be eligible are encouraged to contact the Embassy of India or relevant Indian diplomatic mission in their country of residence for the applicable eligibility criteria, application form and submission procedure.
As requirements and application arrangements are handled through Indian missions abroad, applicants should consult their respective Embassy or Consulate directly before applying.
The Know India Programme has been organised by India’s Ministry of External Affairs since 2003–04 as part of its engagement with younger generations of the Indian diaspora.
